Well I have both and from my experience the PS3 is worth the money even though I barely use it for games. I use it sheerly for Blu-Ray because when it comes to online play I would have to say that Xbox Live kills PS3 Online.

I had a PS3 for about 4 months. After 4 months I bought an Xbox 360, and ever since then I haven't even turned on my PS3. It's been 2 and a half years.

I prefer Xbox Live over PSN, that's why I went with a 360. You should definitely consider online networks.
