[Tut] How To Hide Things And View Hidden Things

How To Hide Things And View Hidden Things
A guide by Nemmyy exclusively for Support Forums Thumbsup

Yes, I know the title is very vague but it's because this tutorial goes over both folders and files. This tutorial is how to actually hide folders/files and view them, not just picking a transparent icon and calling it hidden.

If you have hidden files/folders shown you can still tell if they're hidden or not. Look at the little icon next to the file, for example, the word document next to a ".doc" file. If the file is hidden the icon will be partly transparent.

Hiding Folders/Files
  1. Find your folder or file and right click it
  2. Click properties at the bottom of the little window
  3. Click the box next to hidden

When hidden folders are being shown, you can unhide a folder by doing the same steps above except by unchecking the box next to hidden.

Hiding/Showing Hidden Files and Folders
  1. Click the start orb on the bottom left of your screen
  2. Search "Folder Options"
  3. Click the only entry that comes up under "Programs"
  4. Go to the "view" tab on the window that popped up
  5. Under advanced settings
    • Select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" if you want to show your hidden items
    • Select "Don't show hidden files, folders, and drives" to hide your hidden items
  6. Hit OK

Enjoy this short tutorial Oui
