Review my computing forum.

Ok so I only just re-installed this forum 2 days ago so there is still a lot to do.

I just want to know your views so far on the overall look of the forum, Also the topics, the theme. Do you think it has potential? basically everything, apart from the fact that there are currently no members.

& Please do keep in mind that there is a LOT still to do.. Like I said this is 2 days work.

Thanks Blackhat

The site looks good.
I hope you know a lot about all of the topics you are hosting, as if you cannot answer questions that are to be asked, who will?

The template didn't load properly for me...
The quick menu and SF banner weren't in they're propper spots and the menu's images weren't loading.
Tried a different browser and the same crap.

I know a lot about most topics but not all.. I don't think thats very Important though. I will be getting staff to help out. Questions on various topics will be answered by members.. As they are on any forum..

I am using a Firefox browser and everything loaded fine for me.

Forum descriptions are great. Simple, descriptive and grammar-perfect. I like the historical touch -- year of invention -- that is included for the Gaming section.

Forum icons are fine, however it would be better if there was a consistent feel that unites them all. The HackForums icons have the same feel that makes them a set.

Support Forum banner looks incomplete because the font reflection is cut-off. The border is way too close to the text. Zoom-out the viewpoint to include the reflection and provide space around the text.

General Chat on-topic subjects are fine. You'll need a community to bring out the potential of this section.

Computer, Coding, Webmaster and Gaming are alright, however I suggest that you delete the number of boards you have. HackForums started with only 10-11 boards before expanding to what it is now.

Growing the forum depends on the type of atmosphere the administrator creates. Look at administrator posts in dotrb by trilobyte- and Omniscient's earliest posts here at SupportForums. Both are welcoming to new members in their own way.

Good work for two day's worth. Smile

Looks good, but the banner up top needs to lose the border. I like it.
Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.

Thanks Eve. Thats a lot of good feedback that I can work from.
By the way, the support forums banner is available in the help section here. I didn't make it myself.

Also
@Malware Boss

Yeh the bored around the banner was a mistake. Will be sorting that today.

Also I need to fix the captcha on registration because at the minute, it only shows the background and no text. Which is easy to do.

Thanks for the comments

My pleasure, creating more work for you. Tongue

It puzzles me that it is an official banner. I think it can be improved.

To be completely honest, I hate the skin. You could find a better one at http://mods.mybboard.net/themes if you just looked around a bit. Just DON'T use Afresh. Nice support forums banner.

Its not an Afresh theme.. Its iMusic made by Omni.. I just used Afresh images which were a temporary change as the iMusic images didn't match the theme.
