For example, this post: http://www.supportforums.net/showthread....4#pid53834

Imo, it was not needed. Others can see for themselves that .D0T was right. There was no need to state the obvious.

//That's just my opinion, I'm not trying to flame or insult you etc.

EDIT: Or even this post: http://www.supportforums.net/showthread....6#pid54356

Where the thread is outdated.

The second one, I don't agree actually. When you see a post where someone needs help then you don't usually look at the threads date. Unless you care more about how people are gonna say that the thread is outdated than the actual person that needs help.

No, if a thread is old, in this case.. More then 5 months old, most likely the person is never going to look at the thread or he even has his problem fixed. You're just getting your post count up searching for old threads that is unnecessary.

I didn't search for the thread, bro. It was on first page.

I agree with this. I haven't ran across any rude or immature members. Hopefully it stays like this.
Aut viam inveniam aut faciam.

Ok, fair enough, but it does seem like you were just posting to boost your post count, since someone had already helped the person and even said they would +rep them, once they get to 100 posts (which shows that the problem was solved).

Personally, when I look at a thread, I read every post made before I post, to check if the question had already been answered, and to make sure what I post is not exactly what other people have already said (which would be pointless). Perhaps this is another thing you didn't do, which made you to post there.

Some things I dislike about the new members that are pouring in:

#1 - They aren't checking when the threads were posted.. they're just posting to boost their post count. Really, if the OP hasn't logged in in 2 months, don't you think that a) their problem has been fixed or b) they don't really care?

#2 - They aren't checking the thread to see if the OP's problem has been fixed, or if their fix has already been suggested.

#3 - They aren't reading the rules. I've seen at least 5 tutorials related to hacking since last night. I've also seen people posting cracked programs. At this rate, SF is going to need another moderator.

#4 - They aren't searching whether or not to see if their thread has already been posted. I wonder why this is.. hm.

Does that apply to me? I try not to do any of these..
