I'd have to say PhotoShop CS2.
I've got alot of experience with it, and now it's one of my most used tools.

I prefer Photoshop CS4, since I felt "lost" so to speak, while on linux, with GIMP, and such. I've been using it for almost 3 years now, and I know pretty much all of the ins and outs of it.

I would say Photoshop CS5, but that isn't out yet.
Adobe Photoshop CS4 is VERY user friendly, not to mention thousands upon thousands of tutorials on the internet about it.

Photoshop CS4 is simply the best. I dislike GIMP and paint. D:

My favorite graphics program is obviously Photoshop. It can do EVERYTHING. But for a free alternative, I would go with GIMP. Paint.net is crap compared to GIMP imo.

Photoshop. This is the program I primarily use for graphics. But when I am doing alternative forms of graphics, such as pixel art, I prefer to use alternative program such as GrafX2 or GraphicsGale.
