How the heck do you make a bootable dvd?
#1
I have been searching the internet and youtube for answers but I can't find anything that works.

Its ridiculous, making a bootable DVD shouldn't be this difficult.

MY DESIRE
Okay, I am trying to make a Windows 7 Bootable DVD that will install Windows 7 when it is inserted into the optical drive and the computer is turned on. This seems like a simple task but every time I try, I fail.

These are the files I have:

I compressed the files to an iso image. From there I used nero and other programs to make a bootable dvd to fulfill my desire but it failed. Windows would skip the boot order of the disc and load my home OS.

I tried Poweriso-fail
infrarecorder- fail
nero 7- fail

Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Where did you get Windows 7 from?

If you got it legitimately, ie. from MSDN, it should already be in an .iso format and ready to burn.

I probably didn't get it legitimately. I got it from one of my mates.

Sorry, but piracy isn't allowed on SF. We can't help you.
