PHP site backup tutorial

This is a tutorial I used to backup my entire site:

it's simple enough for noobs. I'm new to php and this was relatively simple to set up.

I dont use cpanel i do it the old fasion way with ftp

Backups are best done with cron jobs and shell scripts. However if you have a control panel it's likely you can do automatic backups from it.

this is used in junction with a cron job.
