No, not really. I could start using celsius, but then I'd have to convert it to Fahrenheit every time, because every day people are too lazy to use celsius. It makes sense, though. I mean, everyone around them uses fahrenheit; why should they switch? Scientists, even American scientists, use celsius because that's what's used in science. However, a weather reporter is going to use fahrenheit, because that's what everybody knows. There are about 303million people in the USA; even getting 1/4 of that number to use celsius would be impossible.
