Having Trouble getting People to sign up + stay active
#1
So, I bought a domain a few weeks ago; hardstyleforums.net , and I got a few friends to sign up and everything and they posted a little 'n crap like that. But now, I can barely get one person to sign up at all, and it says there are over 50 guests on there at one day?

And it's also a trouble trying to get them to stay active. We only have like 200 or so posts, and over 25% of them are from me. I'm just bummed out on what to do? I've been posting threads, trying to make members post more, but they just.. don't.

Maybe it's the lay out, or the theme? I don't know.
You tell me.

Any help would be really appreciated, I'm completely stuck. Sad

I personally don't know anything about hardstyle but you should think of ways to target people who are into it. Obviously you shouldn't find a similar site to advertise on but maybe general music sites, not just limited to forums.

It is hard to get active members to register and stay active. I know the problem all too well.
Forums come and go every day. I have seen so many die in the time i have been actively running forums.
I think at the end of the day you have somewhat a specific niche so thats a big plus.
Just give it time mate. Let it mature for a few months and see what eventuates.
Not a huge fan of the theme to be honest but thats personal preference entirely.

Good luck with it mate.

Yeah, I suppose good old fashion advertising will help out.

Yeah, I wouldn't do anything like take it down or sell the domain straight away. Like you said, I should probably let it mature a little and see what comes. Alright, thanks for the feedback Smile

*Edit*
Ok, thanks guys. I've put a new theme / banner on, so feedback on that would be nice.

90% of forums close down within their first month. Another 5% close down within 6 months. Why? Admins get discouraged.

Starting a forum is not an easy thing to do. You have to give people a reason to register. The average person will not see a reason to register and post on an empty forum. You have to give them reasons to.

So, the best way would be to not discouraged, keep at it and see what happens? And post content, obv.

Yeah Maybe, but for now I agree with what Damink said. But I will later on when there are some more reviews.

Ahaha, ofcourse it is. But you're not the only member I respect here on these forums, I want to know what some of the others say.
