What Linux Distro do you recomend me? [SPECS INSIDE]
#31
Mint seems a bit more sleek than Ubuntu so imho the lower specs you have would be best suited for that distro.
Superman I am here to rescue you.

Are you talking about the Compiz 3D Cube? Because Ubuntu has that too.

I say Ubuntu. I love it.

Any distro can have that, you just have to install Compiz.

I reccomend Fedora, like Arch and stuff you can choose what packages you want when installing it from the dvd. It's not hard to use, or maintain. And it looks great in KDE or Gnome.
At the top will be the same place you hang from.

You can do the same with Mandriva.

openSUSE 11.2 with KDE.
openSUSE has been repped by being the most bloated. I use it and admit it is bigger then most distros. With your hardware I would recommend it highly.

I'd go with Debian (Ubuntu is based off Debian) so theres tons of support.

Support is good starting off, but what about when you become more familiar with the operating system?

Thing i find with linux is there pretty much all the same. Sure some small differences but not enough to really distinguish any enough.
Every linux user seems to think there own is the best distro and this is what makes linux great.
I recommend any of the above really. Or Mandriva Smile But any is fine. Get used to it and play with it.
Run live disks if you want. No install needed and just play. One will suit your needs and feel most comfortable.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I've been a redhat since day one. It's my favorite up to date.

Doesn't Red Hat cost money to keep updated now? That was my first look at Linux. It was Red Hat 3.
