Problem while formating Vaio VGN-NR21

hi everybody im writing this thread because i hav a problem.
while im formating the computer before i hav to chose wich drive i will format, an error message pops up and says the hard drive is not detected, but the worst thing is that it's not detected in the bios ><"


my bios is a pheonix one
but my HD i dunno if it's a sata Sad

sorry for not having a lot of info but i really need your help guys.

It probably isn't plugged in.

Check it.

You will be able to determine if it's a SATA or an IDE by the type of cable that connects it to the board ... wide ribbon is IDE, thin red flat cable is SATA.

Make sure it's plugged in, you could always update your bios.. If no luck, maybe your hdd is broken. Hope this helps.. And check out my sig Tongue

Err, like above have said, the hard disk is probably not connected.
Turn the laptop off then look at the bottom of it, you will see something called "HDD" there will probably be a screw, remove that and take the hard disk out, and check it there is something inside, if not put it back in and press firmly, and replace the screw and check again. If this doesn't work, then I suggest going to a PC repair shop.

I guess in BIOS you need to select SATA as native mode.

Alot of laptops have sata hardrives...
slowly getting better
