I would probably use PHP. It's not hard to understand and generally pretty easy to edit/use.
And I would probably run this one: http://www.hotscripts.com/listing/v3-cha...hat-rooms/ Just because we need a better way to chat at school (instead of using the really crap emailing).

Most chat rooms and gaming websites are blocked at schools/work. If I made an all in one gaming chat room Youtube clone I think lots of people would use it.

You've made me want to host my own chat script now. I've signed up for hosting and am awaiting account creation.
Using AJAX Chat script, free (I think). http://www.scriptdungeon.com/freephpscri...cripts6954

My school allows it, they're pretty laid back with all that. Just anal about what sites you actually visit. I have a domain that isn't blocked (cameronsprivates.com) and is just sitting there locked from my old host atm.

Protip: Just set up an IRC channel and set up a mibbit widget.
Do they host the channel? or do you have to set up your own server?
Wait... don't worry. I figured it out and am using now. Thanks!
