I really like the forum and everything. I might even sign up soon but you forgot to read the rules.

Quote:The rule clearly stats that you should comment on at least 2 other review requests before posting your site for review.

Wish you luck with your forum! Smile

You have done really well with it thus far. You've bothered to get a nice custom theme fitting your niche, you're bothering to advertise and you're posting content. Good start.

I love it. Nice and short, catchy and unforgettable.
Should be quite good for SEO as well.

Theme
Brilliant. Looks just how I'd imagine a Pokemon forum should look.
Love the different colour theme versions.
Love the forum icons.
The navigation is great also.

Sections
You have too many. It's an easy mistake to make, adding lots of sections when you start out, however it's quite crucial that you don't over do it, making sure your member/section ratio is sensible.
14 sections (plus a good few sub-sections), for 127 members is too much. If I were you, I'd go for 8/9 sections max, and add more as you get more members.
There are a few that you could easily do without to begin with, such as:
"Rate my team"
"Competitive league"
"Card of the week"
"Studio castelia"
"Writers desk"
That would bring it down to 9, which might just do ok.
Bring back the others as you get more members.

Overall
A brilliant looking forum with tons of potential. Trim down a few of the sections and I honestly think you're onto a winner here. Best of luck.

I browsed the forums, and I have to say I love it.

I give it a 8/10, I love the theme, and most of the places are in check. I might join later on in the day as I myself am a huge pokemon fan, you have huge potential in this forum, good luck.

Thank you for the great comment, though I have to disagree with you on the "too many sections" part.

The Rate My Team forum is a big deal on the forum. Many of our members are Pokemon Video Game players, on the DS games and on the Pokemon Online server. A lot of people like getting advice, and help on their teams to make them better. I would keep that section, since quite a few people look for that in a Pokemon forum. Smile

Our Competitive League is something I, the staff, and the members are working on. It's not officially open yet, though it should be completed and open for gym battles sometime next month, if not in May.

Card of The Week is a forum for members to review cards, obviously. I have it up there to try to get the Trading Card Game section active, as only some members are good with the TCG; most members on PokeSun are good with VG, casual and competitive battling.

Studio Castelia is a artwork/graphics showcase forum. Lot's of members on PokeSun love making artwork of all kind, we also have weekly art contests for fun. I wouldn't remove it in my opinion.

Also, the Writer's Desk is a writing section, yes. Lot's of members love posting their stories, poems, and love making roleplays and blogs. I wouldn't remove it either, since it's used most of the time, while the roleplay forum is also occupied.

Again, thanks for the great advice and comment. Smile

I know why you have the sections, but like I said above, you have to think about your member/section ratio. At the minute, because you have a lot of sections, they look empty, which makes your forum look inactive, and if someone is visiting your forum for the first time, they're not going to want to register if they think it's inactive. I've seen worse (admins adding literally around 30-40 sections when they haven't even got 1 member registered), but around the 9 section mark is where you should be at really.

If your competitive league isn't open yet, then hide it.
People can discuss/review cards in the TCG discussion thread, (make a sticky for "Card of the week").

You can still have all of the discussion that you want, without having so many sections.
