ok, so as i gave one of my friends (a girl) a hug, i playfully pulled her down onto my lap, and she actually sat there. and then before we left, i gave her a hug goodbye and she hugged me back. does she actually like me?

Nope. Those conditions are not enough to determine that she likes you.

This does not define whether she likes you or not as she may have felt obligated to hug you back incase she hurt your feelings. But by the sounds of things you have some form of feelings for her also so why not ask her or maybes make the first move and ask her out a yes or no answer will not cause harm . Regards UB3R.
