How to use a VPN on XBL
#1
Materials:
  • VPN
  • Laptop with wireless LAN port (Windows will be used in this)
  • Ethernet cable
  • Wireless router

After your VPN is set up and working, please use the following steps to connect it to your Xbox.

1.

-Plug your Xbox 360 into your computer via ethernet cable.

2.
-Dashboard->Settings->System->Network Settings->Wired Network->Configure Network

Make sure that your IP Setings ans DNS Settings are both automatic.

3.
-Start->Computer->(Right click) Properties. Now you are at your network and sharing center.

4.
-Click "manage network connections".

5.
-Right click local are connection, then select properties.

6.
-Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)"

7.
-Click "Use the following IP address" and use "192.168.0.1".
Subnet mask "255.255.255.0"

"Default gateway", "Preferred DNS Server", and "Alternate DNS Server" should all be blank.

8.
-Go to the properties of your VPN. Right click "Sharing" and select "Allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection".

Under that should be "Home networking connection". Select "local area connection".

The other 2 boxes should not be checked. If they are, uncheck them. Hit OK when done.

9.
-Connect to your VPN. When done, go back to network settings on your Xbox and test the Xbox LIVE connection. If it goes through, you have done this right.

10.
Enjoy!

Yes it will, just remember to change the settings.

You are obviously not very experienced with Xbox. The prevention of DDoS, console ban, tracking, and much more. There are even some DLC that you can only get in certain countries.

Why does everyone think it stops DDoS attacks? It doesn't. I'm yet to come across a VPN I couldn't hit. The only thing I couldn't hit was a guy who connected to his phone's internet.

They probably had a very bad private VPS? If you hit a VPN's IP it will not take down anything. Including the person. If you had their real IP the obviously you could take them offline.
