Obviously if you pay for a year they give you a discount...why even pay for that long if you're unsure the forum will last that long? Although if you do happen to pay for a year...you'll never need to worry about hosting for a whole year, try and wrap your mind around that.. All of your websites can fit on there.
Suit yourself, it's your own money your ignorance is wasting. And if you're going to go with a different company...have some sensibility and don't choose GoDaddy. They are a shady company and supported and helped legislate SOPA to exempt themselves from it. They have terrible customer service, but of course there is always people who never run into problems. You call them the minority. The majority, as in most probably you, will regret paying for a year with this terrible company. Did I mention they supported and helped legislate SOPA? Mainstream, huge companies don't care about their customers. They don't need to because people like you Breshie will buy from them. But you are trusting them to have your website up 24/7, provide you support when you need it, and keep everything running smoothly. That is what you expect, yes...but let me tell you when something goes bad they won't give a crap. For a company that hosts your website and is the only reason it is online you're going to want *cough* need great and quick support. GoDaddy doesn't just lack this, it is almost like they completely oppose it.
Take your time with hosting decisions, especially for a yearly investment.
