Violent Video Games

Right now game stores will see anyone an M rated game. I think that's wrong.

And I think many parents are clueless about how violent some games really are. Then there is the online gaming factor where people in Xbox Live are discussing just about anything openly. If they spoke that way in school they'd be expelled.

I agree with you pal. I noticed what people say on Xbox live is not used IRL. The language and the profanity is extremely different.
My goal is members success.

Should we ban or restrict the use of violent video games?
What is your opinion? Post here.

If we did that it would ruin all the fun. That means there would be no GTA, or any COD for that matter. I see a age restriction but that is it.

Even though I'm 17, I don't think it is right for the government to choose what someone's kids (or anyone at all for that matter) can and can't play. That is the duty of the parent, just like anything else. I

States can no longer ban the sale or rental of violent video games to minors, thanks to a decision by the Supreme Court (June 27, 2011)

Quote: The high court agreed Monday with a federal court’s decision to throw out California’s ban on the sale or rental of violent video games to minors. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Sacramento said the law violated minors’ rights under the First and Fourteenth amendments.

The law would have prohibited the sale or rental of violent games to anyone under 18. Retailers who violated the act would have been fined up to $1,000 for each infraction.

I don't think any games should be banned. It's just games imo...

The only thing that I have a problem with that involves Violent Games and younger children is the online feature. It is not the game I am concerned with, but the environment. Many older gamers tend to talk trash and often involve using vulgar language. This type of environment makes kids think it is okay to cuss and talk trash.

I think more parents should step up and really listen what their children are saying and listening to while playing these online games.
