Although for other countries in the UK, Glasgow is really nice, even though it's murder capital of Europe.

I was thinking more along the lines of good places for vacation just to go site seeing and all that

Yeh Glasgow has some really nice stuff going on there, and the city center is very nice. Just try to avoid going into places that look a bit rough.
