More of my poems.

Flames
by ~Embered

Flames engulf every inch of your soul
But once again, you rise forth from the coal
Ashes symbolizing that your life has begun
Embers displaying that you have now won
Death, no longer takes a hold of you
There is no more death, just life, anew

But what's it worth being alive
Living daily by the blade of your knife
Running and hiding every day
Just hoping that it will go away
But it never does, and it never will
Not even the rope, the blade, or pill.

Pen
by ~Embered

Waiting for hours at a time,
sitting on this bench, trying to piece together a rhyme.
My life wasted, striving to complete this task.
Why? Because once, you asked.
You said, "Weave me a rhyme, make me cry with the joys of life"
I put my pen down on the paper, and all I could cause was strife.
My pen does not write happy endings, it does not cause joy.
My pen can only ruin your emotions, making you feel like some old, used toy.
It will write down your worst fears, and it will make you read it,
your whole being hanging on each word, until it gets to the point where you have to quit.
You throw the paper down, and you scream, .. I'm sorry.
"Why, why can you not write a simple happy story? Why.. not even for me?"
I try, I beg, I plead, I reason. "I.. just can't, I don't have any to write about"
And then you pout.
You cry, you grow angry, and you strike.
Like a steak knife...
Through my heart, you strike, and you hit your mark.
I fall, drowning in my own blood and tears, my bodily appearence as if ripped apart by a shark.
And then I awake, I gasp, for oxygen and nitrogen, I gasp.
I clasp,
my pen in hand, I leave, I walk, and walk my body tense.
After a time, I arrive at the subway bench.
Waiting for hours at a time.
Sitting on this bench, trying to piece together a rhyme.
My life wasted, striving to complete this task.
Why? Because once, you asked...

Rain
by ~Embered

Like rain, you fall.
Your tears and all.
You fall.

The last remains of what was once a whole soul,
are now scattered across the floor.
Unrecognizable rementents of something good.
Now turned evil, just as they always would.
I've never seen anything as sharp,
as the ripped pieces of a hopeful man's heart.
The saddest part, was the effort you gave.
For a goal, that you took to the grave.
Like rain, you fell.
Keeping the secrets that dead men don't tell.
Like rain, you fell.
Dignity intact, but life incomplete.
You fell.
Too soon.
Too sad.

Black Ashes.

Why doesn't everyone see the kind of evil that lurks?
Do they get caught up, with money, power and other perks?
Are they bribed by those who are left in charge?
Continually striving to be at large?
Criminal life is not for me.
Stealing, killing and bribery.
I've seen too much, there's a price on my head.
A wish to fill me full of lead
.

The time
by ~Embered

The time

Musical notes fill the air
leaving behind the feel of despair
lovely feelings fill my heart
forgetting the time that you had to depart
this time spent with you, this time spent alone
it's almost made me feel as if I'm at home...
at home in my heart, at home in yours too.
almost as if I am a part of you...
I feel so close, so connected and whole
so giddy and numb as love takes it's toll
never a moment is dull with you
a writhing sensation left anew
life to the fullest, that's the saying?
well being with you makes me forget the pain
the time that we've spent together as one
well, this has been sorta fun...
but if you love something, set it free..
this way you'll see, what you've meant to me

Roses are Red...
by ~Embered

Roses are Red...

Roses are red, violets are blue.
Those two lines have always been true, but...
Isn't that how most love poems start?
When the pain wrenching lies slice through my heart?
The fairy tales of something that could never be...
Continuous stories, always saying you love me?
When will they stop? When will this end?
This constant game of "I love you" pretend.
"Step right up" "Step right up" see a love-struck fool!
One who believed that he wasn't being used like a mule.
Only to find that his used to be "love" used him repeatedly.
I love you he would constantly assure me.
The one lie I would constantly believe.
Over, and over, and over again.
It's almost becoming our own little trend.
First one to break my heart gets a prize,
And for the first to make sure he cries?
A beautiful trophy, for number one.
The guy in the party who brings all the fun.
All I ever was, a joke with your friends.
A bet that you lost,
A chance to make amends.
You never loved me, you never even cared.
My lifeless body gripping to the love that we shared.
Craving it, holding it, wishing it were true...
Because I, honestly can say... that I loved you.

The world hates you.

You scream at the sky, just wondering "Why?"
Why does this happen to me?
You close your eyes, and then you begin to see...
Just how wonderful the world may seem.
You push it away, you groan in dismay,
the evil just gets in the way.
There is so much good, but there is evil too.
Continually pressing it's way in.
Just as you think, "There's nothing left for me"
You meet someone who changes your mind.
Then it ends, the evil ends, nowhere left for it to go.
The world is evil, and this you knew.
That is why, the world, hates, you.
