[TUT] Jailbreak Your Ipod Touch [TUT]
#1
Jailbreaking is very simple. Most people would think only skillful hackers can do it. That is a total lie. Jailbreaking is one of the easiest things to do when it comes to cracking software/firmware. Just follow these easy instructions and you will be finished under minutes:

1. Download Black Ra1n

If you have Windows, click on the little flag square thing.
If you have a Mac, click on the apple.

2. Update you Ipod to the latest firmware update.

Open Itunes and click on the "Update" button.
If it says that you already have the latest version then great! If not, it will download it for you.

3. Run Black Ra1n.

Click on the Black Ra1n application you just downloaded.
Let it do it's thing and follow instructions.

4. Click on the Black Ra1n application on your Ipod.

When everythnig is done, tap the Black Ra1n application that appeared on your Ipod.
I think you need to be connected to the Internet for this.
Now you will see three options. I would recommend choosing "Cydia"
Now install it.

5. Choosing your category.

Once Cydia is done installing, find the application on your Ipod and tap it.
The first time Cydia starts, it will ask you what kind of user you are.

User: If you don't know much about computers.
Hacker: If you do know a lot about computers and the Terminal.
Developer: If you have no boundaries in computer knowledge.
Now choose you level.

6. Explaining what Cydia is.

Cydia is kind of like the App Store. The difference is, with Cydia, everything is free. They might not have everything that they have in the App Store but they do have a lot of neat stuff.

7. JailBroken

Now that your Ipod is Jailbroken, you can go into Cydia and get a bunch of Wallpapers, Lock screens, Sounds, Ring tones (Iphone), Battery looks, Dock looks, Keyboards, etc.

Have Fun ;)

Nice, never come across a tutorial that explains what Cydia is, however I recommend Icy instead. Its a lot quicker to load. The only downfall is that it isn't as "stable" as cydia (crashes every 10 years) and doesn't seem to be as community based as Cydia. By this I mean the notes from surik or whoever maintains it.
