i don't have windows 7 but for a while i used sygate personal firewall and it pleased me very well it took a long time to configure for my programs but when that was done it worked really well. it might be compatible for windows 7.

The built in firewall sucks because it can be modified so easily by 3rd party software without requiring much permission :/
