Why do people make threads about HF here anyway? It really doesn't make sense to me, this is a different and unique forum in comparison to HF, don't get them combined.

Just because Omni owns both I guess, but I agree - I just joined and this forum seems nicer than there. I seem to always lurk there instead but here I find it easy to post.

You're seeing the good side lol This forum community is good. I originally started out on HF, but this forum top's it in my opinion. When I joined, the community here started with a good atmosphere, and it's still fairly good, other then all the spam which is a little uncontrolled, but otherwise it's good. The members here seem to be more knowledgeable and respectful as well. HF is big, but you can't beat the quality here

Edit: Drex I just noticed you have PM link to HF Private messaging? See things like that I don't get lol. I don't register on a forum to go and PM the person on another whether i'm registered on that other/external forum or not. Not everyone here comes from HF.

Well,because omni owns both forums,and alot of people that are registered here,are also from HF,so they might know whats happening.

That's still abusing abusing the forum community for what it's not supposed to be. That's like going to someone's site when they own both a porn website and a family website, and asking on the family website why the porn one is down. HF and SF are the same opposites. No warez, no hacking here, and if you look at Rule #7, it says no linking to sites with such content. Even without links, HF shouldn't be a topic here period.

It's also the courteous thing to do. I don't go to someone's forum and ask a member why their site is down. There are other ways. Unless it's something like Google, MSN, Facebook, etc that everyone uses, I don't see how people can't just be patient. Why do you need to know? It doesn't make any difference in the end once the site is finally up, and when it's finally up there's also usually an explanation for why it was down. So by asking here, it's really just spam on this forum for no reason.

I've seen this same exact thing happen on another small forum I was on (stupidhomework.com) whenever the big site owned by same admin would go down (halo3forum.com). They would come there just to say/ask that lol.

If you were starting a forum, and trying to get decent content that would be a huge downset. Say you own facebook, and you're starting a smaller forum site at the same time facebook goes down. All of a sudden you're not going to have a forum anymore, you're going to have a contact form, in the form of a website that looks like a blog or information base for facebook. It's really pretty senseless in my mind

Still, what if it's being ddos'd which is nearly impossible, wouldn't you like to know?

As far as my knowledge it wasn't planned, and I'm quite scared, this is the easiest place to get an answer.
