I know a friend that is also in the USAF and he loves it.

8 years is a long time but I am sure when its all done you will think it went by quick.
Best of luck for a good time on your journey

Well, technically I only have to serve 4 of those years as active duty, and the other 4 I can just be in the reserves. But, as of right now, I fully intend to stay in the Air Force for 20+ years, especially if I can get a job I love.
Cyber security is the job I would want to do as a citizen anyway, so if I can do it for the Air Force and get tons of benefits from it (not to mention I'll have a GUARANTEED job), why not? Big Grin

Good luck - you'll enjoy it. My dad is a retired Senior Master, he's working as a CIV right now for Stand Eval.

Congratulations on making it in! But what is this nonsense of you not owning your body? You definitely still own your body.

Not really, lol. They can sentence me to death if I get a sunburn, because getting sunburned is against their rules. Same if I get a tattoo, or pretty much anything else that involves my body.

Haha, if you get a sunburn. Yeah, I know what you mean but the law isn't blind like that but I am sure they certainly have rules about your body. Like you are required to exercise right? Because an out of shape pilot is dangerous.

Well I'm not gonna be a pilot, but yeah they do have certain rules I've gotta follow. Staying in shape is a big one... gotta do a physical test every month I think to make sure I'm still fit. And they're really strict on tattoos too, they almost didn't let me in 'cuz of a tattoo that I have on my calve.

Congratulations to you! My dream is to join the air force and work avionics or be a fighter pilot.
