I guess this is not a way to live...
#1
Well, lately I had an experience that made me question my way of life. Before that I didn't care less if I was drinking or smoking more than normal. But now, especially in this last three day it made me wonder. Where is my life going to. Will I end up an alchocolic when I reach 25-30 years old? Will I die from lung cancel or liver failure with 40? I mean, I'm skinny, not too skinny but a bit below average. I'm actually quite strong for my build and I have a normal stamina, like any other person. But, lately I switched from drinkng 4-5 beers and getting drunk to drinking 4-5 beers and still feeling normal, like I drank water or something. I drink every 3-4 days with my friends. Also, I used to smoke half a pack a day, now I smoke one, sometimes two per day. Hell, I smoked three packs today ffs. Really, I need to get some motivation to start living a healthier life. I'll probably die if I go on like this, maybe not now but in a long term... So, any tips? I plan to quit smoking, maybe start doing some sports or something. I don't plan to quit drinking with my buddies and all, what's the point on going out then lol. But I'll probably cut down on it too.

Well I personally do not smoke or drink much for a 20 year old but I can say that your drinking habit is not even looking that bad at all...however if you are smooking 3 packs a day then you should just try to cut back on that.
If you do not care about your health on smoking then just do it for the costs...because they add up a lot. That is the way I look at it.

Sounds like your slowly losing control. I'd work harder at figuring out some direction and make some long-term goals.

Well, I gotta figure this all crap out. Yeah, smoking costs alot, that's what really bothers me lately. Although I know some of the people my age drink more then me, I don't want to end up like some people I know that are 25, with no job, no girlfriend, no future, no income, drinking all day living on their parent's expense.

My grandma is 71 and she's been smoking since she was 20, she smokes 2 packs a day.

It does seriously effect your health, I would start looking at something to motivate you to either cut down or to stop.

You'll be fine - you just need to find something else to do. I was addicted to drugs for 5 years, and I've been sober for 2 years now and I will for the rest of my life, it was like...a unpenetrable bubble.

Just wondering how old are you exactly?

17 years old. I know that 4-5 beers isn't much, but the time it takes me to drink them (30-40 mins) kinda upsets me.

I don't understand why it is you feel the need for drugs and alchohal.. Try to meditate. Google How to have an OBE ; Then try it and it will make you feel refreshed and you will think a lot and feel calmed. Hopefully you will find an interest in meditation.

Well, it's kind of terrible you drink and smoke at that age. You probably should get some help before you end up as a smoking alcoholic with kids.

Get your life on track, take a break, get emotional support from your family Smile
