Would you buy SF membership?

He's explained before that this server was donated to him, he doesn't have huge site up keep costs like HF. He doesn't have donation pages either.

I think it would ruin the image of Support Forums to make it look like people are "paying for support" as this site is built on members helping other members without personal gain and I think it would ruin SF.

However, I would support a donation page for members to earn an award for donating to Support Forums.

Also all features are available to normal members. We can change usernames, use avatars, give reps so restricting these when creating a VIP group would ruin it all.

I don't think a payment for membership isn't necessary on this forum. The forum owner - Omniscient has planned it out neatly. This is a support forum - whereas people would be helping out each other for free. It is not a forum that should be helping the owner with his income. This was Omniscient's decision. It is not here and it is not needed. Most forums around here already have VIP memberships as a prerequisite.

*An award
*More characters per post
*More signature space
*Different color username

Yes i would but the forum has a long way to go before this should be implemented. I don't think such a small forum needs membership yet.

What will the exclusive forum provide the subscribers?
There's already an award for being upgraded at HF.
That can be requested without having a VIP user group.
There's only one option in MyBB and it will give all other miscellaneous groups in the forum more signature space. It can also be requested otherwise.
This username is fine and suits the forum's concept.

The only con would be the bullying of non upgraded members like on HF, though I agree I'd buy membership here too (Im Ub3r on HF).

i agree with this i dont like the bullying on HF, im also ub3r but you need to understand the precaution that need to be taking with the member with like 5-10 post and want to buy stuff from you most likely with stolen paypal that will fudge you over.
