Violent Video Games
#11
I think it should stay the way it is so you have to be 17 to buy a rated M game. If they banned violent video games it would kill the gaming industry.

Right now game stores will see anyone an M rated game. I think that's wrong.

And I think many parents are clueless about how violent some games really are. Then there is the online gaming factor where people in Xbox Live are discussing just about anything openly. If they spoke that way in school they'd be expelled.

You mean "sell" right? I have to agree with you there, in my country there's monthly check-ups on stores where they send kids to buy 18+ games, if they do so successfully, the store receives a warning and a fine.

Besides that, I still think it's wrong to totally ban a game meant for an adult, because kids might get their hands on one. It's the parents that should keep an eye on what their kids play, maybe play with them a level or two.

Banning it wouldn't do any good anyway, kids still manage to get their hands on drugs, and other things like that, which are completely banned depending on where you live. And kids still have access to websites that contain adult content.

What's the difference between a game and all of these other things that would change if you were to ban games as well?

Thus banning would be useless. Drugs and such are worse than video games and a lot of kids are having access to that stuff as well as adult stuff can be found with the pressing of a few buttons and a click. Though the parents SHOULD look out I guess.

That's a good idea, or at least the parent could watch the gameplay or check up on it on the internet.

Just the way I see it, even if it was banned, just like drugs, it still doesn't solve the issue, and it's still up to the parents to make sure that they are looking into it to make sure that they aren't getting into such things.

I totally agree with you on this,i recently heard that U.K will ban all the porn sites..and you can watch porn only if you prove you are over 18 years old and let's face it do you really think that blocking porn sites will be their solution? No ,it won't ,kids are getting smarter and smarter with every generation(pokemon! Jk) and they'll just use a VPN or something and manage to watch porn if they really want to :-) .

That's actually a huge disadvantage if you think of it. How are people, of the younger audience supposed to relieve themselves if they are sexually frustrated? Would that not logically increase the amount of sexual abuse and rape that goes on? You'd have more of the younger audience actually experimenting, and probably with a lesser knowledge about the subject which could get people into even more trouble if they aren't careful.

What's the harm in any of that? It's just human anatomy, and parent's should be teaching their children more about it as far as i'm concerned. That's the only reason they get the wrong ideas from it. Lack of knowledge.

Absolutely dude. Even with the banned things it will be the same if not worse. It's blamed completely on the parents if the child goes bad. They come across these things and don't understand them, get addicted and keep going to the website. The parents should be looking out and checking every once in a while to see what their child is up to. Sometimes parents make the excuse that the child is really smart and kept everything a secret. This total *****hit. If they even tried they could still catch them and stop them.
