Question, not sure if you want to help me out though. How would I add buttons to the menu? searched around and can't seem to do it.

That's easy, you need to get the background of the menu, which is usually two side images, and a middle image. They get repeated in the css with the width of the div. So you add the menu background, and add the text as another link with the header welcomeblock member template.
