You can get a free "WinXP" embedded theme here, no patching required:

Not intended as any sort of spamming here, but I thnk that I also have to say, that I would prefer to have an OS that works
as efficiently as it can, even if that may mean, not having such a funky, sexy looking desktop, as there's little doubt imo,
that this does use up some extra system rexources, although I can't really say exactly how much it may use though.

It may be very little in fact, I don't know, I just remember reading something, a long time ago,
that said if you wanted your OS to work somewhat faster, then you should not enable any wallpaper on the desktop.

Maybe with the improvement of PC's over the years though, this may not make much of a difference any longer.

I doubt that having a wallpaper would matter much, even if you did have an awful GFX card like I do. Perhaps transforming the OS completely, meaning log-in screens, icons, cursors, ect could slow down system resources, but not by much, if at all.

You're probably right about that.

I dd have a nice image on my desktop a while ago, but recently I haven't really been that bothered to use it again for some reason,
and setteld for that 'silly' bliss b/g, which is kind of bland, but not exactly unpleaant imo.
