J.K. Rowling just released her youtube video regarding Pottermore. Apparently, from what I could lean, it will be a website designed to help engage the readers of Harry Potter in fan fictions, new stories and ideas as such. More details to come hopefully.
A few users will be able to sign up for a beta program by entering the website linked above.

What is Pottermore?

Pottermore is a free website that builds an exciting online experience around the reading of the Harry Potter books.

Pottermore is open to all in October. Leave us your email address now and we’ll notify you when registration has opened.

Update: Apparently, details about the beta version will be announced either soon or at the most, on July 31st (Harry Potter's Birthday).

The Pottermore site will sell all Harry Potter books, eBooks and audio books in several languages from October.

The project will launch in October but one million fans are being offered the chance to shape the development of the website throughout the summer.

From today, readers can register for the online challenge and those selected will gain early access to the site on July 31, Harry Potter's birthday.

The eagerly anticipated project will allow readers to shape their own experience by answering questions, being sorted into their own house at Hogwarts and picking up new information and facts along the way.

There are opportunities for fans to play games, add comments and drawings, mix potions and interact with other characters as they move through each story. Their profiles grow as they progress.

The material has been carefully edited to avoid spoilers as participants make their way through each "moment" or experience.
