It just appears to attract the more idiotic members from hackforums that will do anything just to stand out from the others on the forum

It doesn't matter if you consider your posts spam or high quality. It's the fact you're not here to contribute just here to get a crappy feather on your HF profile then leave.

I came here to get away from hackforums due to the large amount of retarded kids. Now the lower IQ hackforums members seem to be dragged here by a 24x24 image. I am here because I want to be here and I want to help with the forum. I can't imagine making 100 posts on a forum I do not want to be on just for an image..

Yes I also find it very frustrating, how ever Omni has recently said that the feather will not be removed yet, so I guess we just have to learn to deal with it.

I don't see any problem if the persons posts are HQ. (And by HQ, I would expect the majority of their posts to be around 2 sentences long). If you see somebody who you think is LQ, then report them, and they'll most likely be banned/warned.

The support feather will only be awarded if his posts are HQ, otherwise Omniscient won't give it to him.

The award is staying for now so like Fragma said, report LQ posts and we'll all try our best as a community to reduce spam.
