How would I improve my computer build?

What's a good and cheap effective way to improve my computer? It's quite crap. I haven't got a great budget to spend so far.

It depends really how you want to change it but i gotsome tips which is free for you:

• Defrag. I prefer using the windows defrag. But there is some online. Not everything is a great program, but have a look around. Go through some reviews on the program. Because doing a defrag could help a lot.
  
• Still got some old and unused softwares? Then you should get rid of them. Any unused program, can cause more load, and therefor gets slower. So i will recommend doing that. And use the windows uninstaller.
  
• Do NOT use those registry cleaners, they do more harm than good.

A better GPU would definitely help, maybe try to clean up your HDD.

More RAM is certainly on the cards. And a better GPU to support it. You can try formatting your hard drive and install new versions of softwares.
