Alright so I downgraded my HP Pavilion dv6607nr laptop to Windows XP because I don't really like the feeling of Vista. The problem is that the sound doesn't work and I've tried the suggestions on google. Does anyone else know how to get the sound working on it? I've been trying to for days. Is it possible at all?
Thanks SF

Man,HP Pavilion is supposed to be Windows 7,when you downgrade it to XP you will have very big troubles with sound/video. I have HP Compaq Presario CQ56,i installed windows xp on it and i got the same problem as you.

You just need to install the drivers. Most probably, it would be realtek. So try installing realtek driver for Win XP.

Yeah, you need to find drivers for it. That can be really pain in the ass since XP dosent have Windows Update software.
Just try to google your laptop and go to HP's website to see if theres anything for you.

Try updating the drivers?
They could be non compatible with XP
