Email Notification for Emotional Support

Maybe not all sections for support, but any threads requesting support should get them, this would make a distinct line between threads that require additional knowledge from others, or threads that are giving out knowledge (tutorials), else threads that don't require or give knowledge (graphics, videos...)

But I would agree, it would still mainly be within the areas of the forum asking for support if they were to post a thread requesting support. I've seen forums that have rules where you have to add a prefix yourself otherwise you can't get support, or the thread of yours gets deleted. And when your problem is solved you have to put "Solved" in your thread title.

What are you talking about? Facebook isn't related to prefixes :S

Um... I think maybe he's talking about tags and stuff on facebook :S

No, I just don't think he actually read the first post Smile Instead he read the thread title "Email notification" and he didn't even know that the suggestion was about prefixes lol. Might be another member hoping for that feather. I personally would hate to have email notification, I usually turn them off for everything, unless it's something very important.

I actually wouldn't mind this kind of thing implemented. While I don't visit the Emotional Support sections myself, if it's something extra that works to help improvement of peoples' problems and give more satisfaction to those who originally help with the problems, then why not encourage it?

It wouldn't exactly force anyone to do anything, it could be ignored yes, but if it brings extra activity and better understanding of situations to the forum, then why not go for it?

This is like Facebook when he suggested the 'email notification.'

Try reading the first post. Email notification isn't even mentioned, it's all about thread prefixes.

I did read the first post.

"And if it still at [SUPPORT NEEDED] after a couple of days and e-mail will go out saying "Did you get your support?" so people can close the post"

Once again SF will not be sending emails like facebook.

I guess you're right, but the prefix idea is a fairly good suggestion to me. I would block any email notifications I get though.
