I wanna work as a writer and journalist. The fine thing about Norway is that I don't have to worry about money unless I want to be rich. I can stay at home and sleep all day if I want to. I will still be able to survive because of the taken-too-far welfare system.

College loans, house loans, car loans, etc. You're in debt as soon as you start. I may be very ignorant in the matter, but right now I'm thinking how scary it will be, and is for other people now, to grow up and live in the real world.
It is really making me want to try much harder in school so I have a better chance. Anyone have insight?
You don't need house or car loans right out of high school.
You'll most likely rent an apartment and buy a used car.
As for college, you can apply for thousands of scholarships within about a month time, and chances are you'll get a lot of free financial aide.
Or you could just skip college and join the military;
- free college after you serve (GI Bill)
- they pay to train you, and pay you to serve
- great life experience
- lots of benefits

Dude, It's not as bad as you think. If you like to be challenge by anything (skateboard, bike, school, etc..) you will do just fine. Being in debt isn't bad as well. I mean really you're (Not to sound harsh) are going to die one day, that's a promise. Don't take it like a bad thing. Take things one step at a time, enjoy yourself. Your still young. Just make sure you go to college. You will have a good ride.

I'm 17 and graduating this year. I'm moving to Boston (approx. 1.75 hours from where I live now) for school. It will be the first time I'll truly be on my own managing myself. I'm not scared, but quickly realizing that things will be much different than they are now.
I think it'll offer a great opportunity to "grow up" and learn what it's like to be an adult in a more regimented setting.
If I were to not go to college and just move out and find a job, I don't think I'd be able to. I've been carried through my life and would just completely fall on my face. At least with school there will be some support and room to gradually become more adjusted to living on my own.
To OP, don't worry about it. You'll mature and when the time comes you'll be ready. Enjoy your childhood while you can, once you have responsibilities life blows, lol.
