Looking for a new USB flash drive
#1
I'm looking to buy a new USB flash drive so I can tranfer films from my HD to my Xbox to watch them without wasting discs. The problem with the one I have now is that the transfer rate is always below 1MB per second so copying a movie to my flash drive usually takes over 20 minutes which is really annoying. Also, mine's capacity is 2GB, which is not enough for some high resolution films I sometimes find myself with.

I'm looking for a flash drive that has a quick transfer rate and a minimum storage capacity of 8 or 16GB. I don't want the best of the best because I don't want to spend too much.

What do you guys recommend?

I'd rather a 16GB drive. Also, the link doesn't mention the read and write specs.

If your Xbox is hardwired then you can just stream movies from your computer. Not sure if you can do that if you're wireless.

The question is, what are your USB ports version and what is your pen drives interface version?

Personally I recommend the brand Transcend. I've had one of there USB's for at least 5 months without an issue (Even went in the washer once lol).

When looking for a new one, try to get USB 2.0, and make sure you're plugging it into a USB 2.0 port. If you have a newer motherboard, you could try and find USB 3.0 pen drives, although I'm not sure if the xbox supports this.

To be honest, any will do. To me, a USB drive is a USB drive. Find a good deal, and go for it.

If you are running Windows, you can stream movies, music, pictures from your computer to your 360 flawlessly, you just have to set it up once.

Yes, run Windows Media Center. As stated by LancerImpact, you can run any media file.

I've used it for a couple of months, and I love it.
