There are a lot of medical conditions, disorders and diseases with those kind of symptoms, what's important is the hallmark symptoms that come into play. Diabetes Mellitus patients often have fatigue, nausea and vomiting PLUS polydipsia (poly = many, dipsia = drinking; always thirsty), polyphagia (phagus = eating or consuming; always hungry), and polyuria (uria = urination), in certain cases also with some burring of vision and higher cases of skin and urinary tract infections. If still in doubt, go to a nearby lab and have an FBS (fasting blood sugar) or RBS (random blood sugar) done. Also a history of having diabetes mellitus in the family is a factor, if your parents and grandparents and close relatives didn't have it, there is a good possibility you won't develop diabetes unless you like sweets and excessive consumption of sugary foods which may cause a disequilibrium in the balance of your diet or food consumption. Fasting = 8 hours with nothing PO (per orem = by mouth; not eating and drinking anything) Help us help you...

Could you reword it, please? @Sorath/PaNiK, I really doubt I have diabetes. No one, like no one in my family has it. Not even distant cousins and all that. I know this for a fact. I haven't experienced (most) of those symptoms that Sorath mentioned. The only I can think of that I do is fatigue, and that's probably where the tiredness comes into play. I'm really starting to think it's because I have strep throat/the flu that I am so tired and everything.

With tiredness, I could only recommend you take vitamins, go out and exercise a little more, increase your Carbohydrate intake (pasta, rice, bread, etc) so you'll have a litte more energy, also some endurance programs at the gym helps a bit. With your strep/flu, I suggest not taking any antibiotics until your doctor tells you to. IF it's mainly strep throat, find a good ENT specialist, I get strep throat every 1-2 years, my ENT mostly prescribes an antibiotic (the antibiotic depends on what strain of strep you have and if you have developed tonsillitis with that strep throat). The flu could be secondary to your strep throat infection. If your curious as to the modality of treatment of bacterial infections (like strep) with antibiotics. Please read these: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa...cra.2.a.22 http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa...cra.2.a.11 http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa..._n8739264/ *these are articles for Nurses and other allied health care providers, but they are mostly in lay terms so I recommend it. Well, if you are really in doubt with your current situation or condition, it doesn't hurt to get a hospital or clinic consultation with your family/primary physician, perhaps have you get your labs (blood test, urine test, stool exam, etc) done in the process to know what's really bothering you on a physiological level. And it might help to relieve your anxiety towards it. Help us help you...

The doctor has perscribed me medicine. Would you like for me to tell you the name of the antibiotics?
And for the record, those articles didn't make sense to me Perhaps I should have paid attention in biology. It might be worth mentioning that I don't have my tonsils; they were taken out about five years ago.

Your symptoms do not seem like diabetes to me. My former partner had it and my best mate has it. Both type2 and the symptoms are just different. Type1 i am not so sure but would imagine similar.
I really am inclined to agree with S0rath 0f the Black Sun. Big change of routine would help. You dont oversleep do you? 6-8 hrs would be max at your age i would imagine. Thats the only other thing i can think of short of insomnia?

You can just PM the list of antibiotics to me or just post here. LOL. I guess they were still too medical in terminology. I'll find some more readable articles next time. Ah, I still have my tonsils, my doc says he'll only take em out if there was a year when I have 3 tonsil infections in one whole year. I only had one this year. So I'm mostly given lidocaine lozenges, an oral anti-inflammatory spray and some strong and expensive antibiotics (Co-Amoxiclav/Amoclav). Help us help you...

I know this is a little off topic but i hope you all find it funny.
I made the wife promise on her wedding vows that she will get rid of her tonsils. I wont say why. out of good taste. And sorry to jump a thread. Back on topic. I thought tonsils were able to be taken out voluntarily?

They can, but I won't have it taken out unless it's becoming a real hassle, which in my case would be 3 instances of tonsillitis in a single year. Tonsillectomies are often minor operations by classification, bloodless and just makes use of a laser or cautery tip cutter. Help us help you... |
