I see, I'd probably get an HDMI monitor with a lower response time than do all this though.
You should also suggest buying things from Newegg as well. Cheap and reliable.

In this case, I would only recommend buying a monitor off of Newegg. The rest of the supplies you would probably get cheaper on eBay.

But yes, Newegg is great. Thumbsup

I've been using Xbox VGA for a while now, it is the best for gaming.
You can get the VGA cables for 3$ on Ebay, I used turtle beach cable for audio and I didn't have the VGA switcher, as my monitor only has one input.

If you guys are using switchers/splitters. Make sure it's powered. It sounds dumb and a complete waste of your money but you lose a lot of your signal strength that way.

If you're splitting audio, buy a distribution amplifier, good ones are anywhere from $40-60. A good one I've used in the past can be found here.

I suggest most of you just switch to HDMI if you haven't have already. It's just more convenient. Downstairs we even have our audio system act as a switcher to reroute the signal straight through to the TV. A lot less to worry about. I'm not sure how my Turtle Beaches would work with HDMI though, seeing I still run RGB on my Xbox.

I don't splel check.

A VGA switch, as mentioned in step 6 of the tutorial, allows so you can ultimately have two outputs on from your monitor. Watch the video if you are still confused about it.

Ah, I use the RCA adapter to plug into my capture card with the normal cable that comes bundled with the xbox and have a seperate port for sound, then have a blue audio jack and the other end a normal green jack.

This method is much better though, since it connects directly to your monitor and not through your PC. Do you know where I could find a VGA switcher or an RCA coupler?

The VGA cable plugs directly from your Xbox to your monitor.

As for a VGA switch or RCA coupler, I would check eBay or Amazon. Another alternative is your local computer/electronic shop.

Yeah I understand, I just didn't want to buy one.
I just manually switched the input every time I was going to computer or Xbox.

I still getting a cable like this (below) is better than the audio setup you have.

Just an audio splitter, one takes one cable instead of 2 or 3 parts, however many you have.
