I love how There's a few different groups of people that post here;
The 100 and gone group: Those who spam-post to 100/until they get their
feather.
The Lamers: Those who *do* stick around, but don't read more than the
thread title before they post.
The Half-assers: Those who read the thread title, the first post, then
get into these opinionated conversations with the posters who have been
there for the entire thread.
The Groupies: The posters tho stick together and have a perpetual
cycle of kissing each others asses and repping each other. These
groups are one of the most dangerous (As far as rep) because they
all generally share the same opinion, or agree with another person
so they don't feel left out/get shunned.
The Oblivious: Those posters who somehow have achieved decent
rep/posts/awards, and tend to have a wrongfully egotistical/arrogant
way about them when they talk. They generally flame people -
or put people down (Even if they are making their first post on the thread)
and are somehow deluded that their rep means that they're special
enough to act like this. Usually; they'll have a gang of "The Groupies"
(See above) that follow them around and rep them so they don't look half bad.
Trying to explain to these kinds of posters is useless, they always have some
sort of justification for why they do this or that, even when you can
plainly see what they *say* they're doing, and what they actually *are* doing are
two different things.
The Pseudo-*: These people are great at one thing, and one thing only.
They've learned a couple of linguistic/philosophical phrases, and they now
TRUELY believe they know everything, and can refute any sort of logic.
*even* disprove "God". They'll argue that their point/opinion is right - and
that you're stupid, if you disagree with them. (Even if you prove them wrong)
They'll usually assert that you should "Study more", point out the fact
that you keep repeating a certain phrase like "ad hominem attack"
because they don't realize after making the same action repeatedly,
you eventually run out of things to say. (They generally will label themselves
as "Intellectuals" - "Philosophers" - or "Scientists". Generally claiming
to be an expert on their subject of choice.
The Helpful Asshole: Those people who are more than willing to help you -
with *any* problem... While telling you that you're stupid, or that your
work sucks. (Regardless of your level of skill/how long you've been doing
whatever.) This is especially prevalent with people who use GFX programs
(Photoshop/C4D/Gimp/Autodesk) etc, and can also be found with gamers,
and coders. they will find any excuse to tell you something is *wrong*
with your project, and try to help you fix your work. (Even if their fixes
just involve opinion of style.)
The Broseph: These guys don't really involve themselves in the usual happenings
of the forum. They usually know someone/some group in the forum, and
hang out/chill just for the social value. They have rep/posts - mainly just because they exist/people know them.
The "Your thread is inferior" guys: These people will NEVER post in a thread that
involves the "lounge" area. (Or if they do, they flame.) they abhor that kind of area for two reasons;
They don't get posts, and they honestly believe that they're too good
to waste their time with potential trolls. They usually have a large distaste for trolls,
because they got trolled WAY too hard, or they're whiteknights at heart.
Usually they get trolled so hard either BECAUSE of their whiteknighting, or
they came at a troll with a very uneducated opinion, acting as though
they knew better.
I'll probably add more as I see them, this is just a quick notation on groups of people I've seen.
