You should still have an AV for Linux, although it's NOT used in the same way we think of AV's with Windows. AV's in Linux are mostly used for the purpose of scanning untrusted files if you have any network connections with a Windows machine.

I use Eset NOD32 4 - It's really good, detects most things, and updates daily. I have had no problems with it at all.

I use Eset NOD32 4 also, It detects even a small virus and when your downloading a file with a virus its being detected also.
