Thoughts on the Sony issues?

Sony already lost the PSP to hacking and piracy, they're going to file lawsuits on every hacker that tries touching their PS3 now.

As a gamer I think it's important that the console manufacturers ensure proper security to both keep the game fair and prevent theft/fraud. Although it may be a little harsh, I don't blame them for trying to make an example out of a few people. Hopefully they'll settle for something minuscule and the effected people can carry on with their lives.

I think it would be like this. Sony seems to be at a point where their egos have been hurt. They've been riding on the "unhackable PS3" until geohot took it upon himself to hack it, and now Sony feels like they need to get back at him. They are absolutely ridiculous, and have shown time and time again that the customers matter not to them. It is very important.

I found it funny how they're gathering all of the ip's of the people who visited the hackers site. Honestly, I think it's a bluff to scare everybody from all of the hacks.

The only reason that geohot hacked the ps3 was because they took away an advertised function of the ps3, the ability to use Linux. That is why everyone is so upset with them. If they hadn't done that, taken away a feature we paid for, they wouldn't be in this situation.

Sony has a lot of issues like sueing hackers for jailbreaking the play station.
