Hey all.

Im trying to make a gaming forum

But im a very big noob and need help..

i have made a host at 000webhost.com or whatever you call it..

i have downloaded filezilla FTP and MyBB

But when i put the host username and password in on filezilla it says.


Status: Connection attempt failed with "EAI_NODATA - No address associated with nodename".
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Waiting to retry...
Status: Delaying connection for 1 second due to previously failed connection attempt...
Status: Resolving address of awiregaming.com
Status: Connection attempt failed with "EAI_NODATA - No address associated with nodename".
Error: Could not connect to server




Can anyone help me. or help me set up the basic forum so i can start

Why can't you connect to the server? Perhaps try a different host?

If I am correct, You are trying to connect with "EAI_NODATA" in the web address?

If this is the case then please try connecting to your site via "http://www.yourdomain.com"

Please reply if this worked.

Do you own that domain? if you were making a free domain from that site, that will not be your domain.

You didn't make a 'host' the host is what 000webhost is

If you can't upload to your site, assuming you did actually make the site, then you can also upload files via your cpanel within the 000webhost account you have. You'll need to make sure that you have input the right ftp details into your ftp program, and those can be found on your hosting site (000webhost) in your ftp information link in the cpanel.

I would recommend just getting FireFTP addon if you use Firefox though.



By the information you posted (no offense) you don't have a good hold on webhosting or webmaster site development at all. But you'll need to create a database in order to use those MyBB forum files you downloaded to get MyBB running on your site.

He's only starting out, but with the number of gaming forums out there I have doubts that he will make this one a success. You need real dedication, and you have to know how to hit the activity levels in order to become competition for other gaming sites.

You should probably buy hosting if you want any form of dedication. Otherwise it might be a bit shaky.

By the looks of it he's trying to connect to: awiregaming.com which I don't think he has the skills to register a .com domain. (He doesn't own it, is what I'm guessing)
