IT Academy
#1
I'm am proud to say that I've been accepted into a government funded IT academy. I'll spend five months getting various qualifications whilst being paid £130 each week to learn.

Over the five month span I should walk out with the following qualifications:
  • Advanced Diploma in ICT Systems & Principles for
    IT Professionals
  • Advanced Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist
  • CompTIA’s A+
  • Microsoft Certified Windows 7 Technician

This doesn't come easy though, the academy have compressed this course into five months (it would take 18 months - 2 years in college normally) and I also have a stupidly long working day. It's an hour and a half commute to work for a 9-5 day Wacko

But I also will have opportunities to work for companies such as Fujitsu, Google and other IT companies willing to recruit the academy's graduates.

So as of 28th of February I will be busy for a while Pinch

Not bad considering that the course only takes five months.

Congratulations, and good luck Sam!

Funny you say that, lots of companies tried to make me sign up for them today in a job fair at my university.
Some lady from google followed me and a friend around a large room persuading us to sign up. We eventually gave in lol. Must have been the free pens that persuaded us. lmao

Anyway good luck and just study mad. Big Grin

I'm sure it's going to be difficult like no other, but you know that your hard work will pay off in the future.

I mean c'mon, you wouldn't go through 5 months of studying for this?

If I was to get into Google it would be in the London office, seeing as all the certifications here wouldn't mean much in the US except the Windows 7 Technician.

Also the jobs available to me are 100% guaranteed, the job invites and applications are only sent to the students of our classes and not released to the public so there is a much higher chance of being employed. We have recruitment consultants for the academy in the companies that would recruit us.

Congratulations! People like you are lucky that you got into studies which are of your field of interest. Some people live miserably because, thought they have the capacity, they have no interest in the course they are in.
