I'd say its condensed.. But there is a few places which you could call "rural" there is one place around 5miles from me, and they've got adsl, but that's all we can get in the town, their lines are daxxed too.

Woops my bad.

Still, the TuT is pretty self explanatory.
Anyone can play using Dial Up, you just can't go into places that have a high Pop/Player count.

Ya i purty much have no choice but to live on dialup right nowBlink. 15 miles from a city with broadband both ways. Only way to get a faster connection is to buy a wireless tower which i should be getting next week. Yeye Finally getting out of the stone age of connections my current connection connects at 28 kbps lol.Ohmy Live in the flippen boondocks.

28kbps! man that's friggin bad dude!

Have you tried doing some dial-up tweaks to try better your connection speed?

The new Opera Turbo could also help:

I assume you have a 56k modem? Or maybe you just have a slower dial-up modem?

49.2kbps was damn slow to me, i couldn't even begin to imagine what 28.0kbps would be like.

Its a 56k modem the dialup i have has a so called excellerater all it does is save images in a cache type thing so if you visit that site often it loads fast. I will check out those and see if i can tweak the speed.Big Grin

Good luck, you should be able to connect much faster than 28kbps on a 56k modem.
Let me know, even if you only make the slightest of improvements.

Cool. Is it connected to COM2? Do you know what COM it's connected to? Try connecting to another COM. I found mine worked fastest on COM2, yours could be different, or possibly faster using another COM.

Start>Control Panel>Phone & Modems>

Click the "Modems" tab, tell me what "COM" it's connected to.

Lastly is it an internal or external 56K modem? i had three different external modems, then i got an internal one installed, i found it to be the fastest. You can also try updating your modem by double clicking it, then right clicking it in the device manager and selecting update driver.

Start>Control Panel>System>>Hardware Tab>Device Manager

21.8kbps, man i feel sorry for you. That's less than half of the speed my dial-up used to connect at. Good luck! Smile
