Problem with java?
#1
I've been running a gaming client [Well two] which are java.
[Runescape botting]

My hardware specs are:
-4GB DDR2 RAM
-2.8Ghz Intel Core2duo processor

So anyway, I run one 'bot' or 'instance' of the client, and the javaw.exe process takes up 400k~ memory in the task manager, which I realise is relatively high, as chrome, which is known as a CPU intensive browser is idling at 200k~ for 6 tabs or so.
As soon as I open another 'instance' of the java client it shoots up to 700-800k on the javaw.exe program.
From there, it rises until i'd say it reacher 1000k, and then is closed - probably by svchost or the task manager for using too much resources.

I havent had this problem on any old computers, and I could run 4-5 of these 'bots' at a time on my old netbook which was only 2GB ram and a 1.9Ghz processor!

What am I doing wrong? I've tried changing the priority to Very low in taskmanager, lowering the graphics completely in the game itself, and even using the Low-Ram option of the bot client.

What to do? I'm starting to think it's a problem with my computer.. D:

What exactly is the problem? my brother, and a few of my friends try botting, and they come up with this problem that the bot is stuck at 'loading' ..

But mine is fine, and i realised how to fix this now. But, what is your problem other than high cpu usage?

It says in the post - It closes itself because it's using so much CPU

Pictures of what?
The client..closes. Doesnt give me a chance to stop it, just ends itself when the CPU usage gets to high :[

Try this.

64 bit OS
Code:
"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms600M -Xmx600M -YOURJARFILE.JAR

32 bit OS
Code:
"%ProgramFiles%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms850M -Xmx850M -YOURJARFILE.JAR

It will limit the java program to 850MB RAM maximum so it wont even try to use up any more.
