How can I setup a domain on windows server 2008 using the "dcpromo" command?

Are you saying domain as in web address or?

first setup your DHCP
then your DNS
then add users!

DCpromo will install your AD, i beleive not 100%. on your network setting point the DNS to your self when you install. make sure only on NIC card is enabled as well. Once you have it installed change the DNS to the DNS server unless its gonna be the same computer running DNS server.. to add users right click in AD and go to add user. maybe you want to make OU to organize user in OU's. DCadd is the command to add a user in command prompt.
