Best Free Antivirus?

Avira all the way man...it detects everything and is updated 24/7 and i mean 24/7. Your Avira AV looks for updates every 5-10 mins by default...It installs new files everyday

Thats nothing special, pretty much any anti virus can do all the above, and AVG has crap detection and removal rates.

Ok, according to most people on this thread, Avira is the best. I've been testing it and I really like it as well. From what I've seen so far I definitely recommend it.

I use Nod32. Its very light, has awesome detection and removal. I dont use Avira because it has a lot of false positives and tends to detect a whole lot of things that it shouldnt.

AVG is very decent, but it uses a lot of resources.

I'm using Comodo, it's very lightweight and updates very frequently.
