The - rep "muahahamu..." and "get naked" are completely ridiculous, they are not even expressing an opinion or have any relevant relation or meaning to any post or thread I have ever made or been involved in.

For that to ruin my reputation is ridiculous. It's not that hard for a member of staff to click [Delete Rating] besides stupid - reps.

I agree that "I don't like your avatar" is an opinion, but no really -rep worthy but I've accepted that one.

Also with Rob, he's a good member and get his reputation tarnished by "You're not a pimp" what does that even mean? Again to related to anything.

On Support Forums we all strive to keep high quality members, posts and threads. Why shouldn't this apply to the reputation system?

I could not have said it better to be honest.
The reputation system as it currently stands does not reflect the community's views not there attitudes.
Simply put its being abused. For a portion of us i understand it does not matter. Myself included.
But for some that really try hard to deliver quality to SF. It tarnishes them.
Ultimately though its a feed off effect from HF. Nothing wrong with that. But the rep system over there is 100% different to here.
And i think people who come here from HF treat it the same.
To try police this will be too much work for the staff i understand.
To have reports again is a headache. Thats why i felt the removal of anon would be the best answer.
Sure there will always be rep comments people dont like. But it will make them accountable for there comment which will reduce the really silly ones.

I made this thread to discuss the problems associated with it. Do i care? No. I will say it for the 4th time in this thead as some dont seem able to keep up with threads.

I understand your concern about anonymous negative reputation points, DAMINK, and I completely agree with you. The amount of negative reputation points I've seen that are anonymous is high, and the majority of them are spam and useless comments. As much as I'd love to help in the situation, I can't. There was an incident earlier some time, and moderator's are not allowed to remove reputation points, there is no option for doing so. I've talked to Omniscient many times about this, but he says reputation is not a priority on Support Forums. To be honest, if moderator's aren't allowed to moderate reputation, I think we should get rid of the whole rep system here. It's worthless. Replace it with a thanks system or something.

Yes mate. A suggestion i put out long ago was the thanks system to get rid of this problem but it got shot down back when i started that thread.
I think this thread has honestly highlighted the problem to a point i feel it will be addressed. I know Omni gets annoyed by this. Hell any system he implements people will find a way to abuse it.
Ultimately though i feel something that takes away any - option will remove 90% of the hate.
And hate on SF is really a bad thing and needs to be nipped in the bud any time it appears.

That is possible only if omni codes one more plugin.
And rep system is okay if someone is idiot we cant do anything.
