Today I learnt in college that some prisons in the UK have stopped attempts to smuggle drugs into prisons through visiting times.
The horrific part of this crime is that on more that one occasion, babies were used to smuggle them in through the back passage and both places on the girls.
I can't imagine inserting drugs into a little baby like this.

You'd be surprised though on the currency on the drugs in jail. It's no sober house like most would expect it to be. I'm not telling you that I would go and do that, but I'm telling you right now that who knows the amount of [insert whatever's valuable in prison] you could get with narcotics in prison.
I say it is a elaborate plan, but it's taken way to far if you know what I mean.

One other thing I learnt is that for a prison officer to smuggle in one mobile phone they usually earn around £15,000 (per mobile phone)
So drugs must be huge.

Yea, I have heard of Prison guards smuggling in cell phones, each of them here are worth about $5000 , And the price of drugs are up to x100 what they are worth outside of prison. Studies say that guards could/do make more in smuggled goods than what they make by working at the prison. Sometimes money will bring out the bad side in people.

Well lets see. If it was in rhode island and it can get up to x100 and the pot I used to do when I smoked were 10-20$ so it could be 1000$-2000$ Holy crap :O

Yea, its insane. I make sure to stay away from drugs at all costs. For instance, I currently am suffering from a badly broken collar bone.. and I am only taking 1/2 of what I was prescribed to take, just to make sure my body doesn't become used to them.

I agree. There are, unfortunately, some people in the world who are seriously sick. It's horrible to think that they do this to babies.
The thing I don't understand is, how do the people in jail get the money to pay the officers? I would hate working at a place like that.
