computer connectivity

im setting up my moms new laptop and tryin 2 set up the wireless
im connected to the router and it says connectivity is excellent but i cant bring up webpages

it says website found. waiting for reply...

and thats how it stays

anyone can help?

I'd be glad to help you, as I have taken courses on networking.

Please tell me what kind of router you are using. Then, connect to your local host by going to:

http://192.168.2.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in your browser. (one will work.)

Then go to 'Wireless settings'

Please report back with:
-The router you are using.
-A screenshot of your wireless settings.

Try restarting your router and modem again ^__^

the router is an old Netgear mr814v2
niether http://192.168.2.1 or http://192.168.1.1 worked in either chrome or internet explorer

p.s im doing all my internet on my desktop just so u know


nvm found it on the box
its 192.168.0.1

nope
the only way i get internet is if i plug the ethernet cord into the laptop. but thats not what she wants plus then my desktop doesnt have internet
