It isn't. However, it is the standard language of Science & Business. It also serves as a language that mostly anyone will understand. So, if you are a Japanese person speaking with an Icelander, y'all can communicate in English.

English is only the 2nd largest language in the world, Mandarin, if the most spoken language in the world.

Maybe using English speaking forums might help? If you have fairly-average English skills.

Mandarin is only the biggest because there are so many Chinese.

Everyone says that English is a hard language to learn, but I think it's pretty easy.
Grammar and that kind of stuff are pretty hard to perfect, but overall it's not really that hard.
